Introduction

The nongovernmental noncommercial Uzbek Association of International Law uniting international lawyers of Uzbekistan on a voluntary basis promotes active participation in law making process. The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan registered the Uzbek Association of the International Law on November 24, 2000 with ¹450.


The purposes and tasks:

• Assistance in encouragement, studying, distribution of much wider recognition of
International law;
• Distribution of ideals of humanism, human rights and freedom;
• Participation in the decision of concrete issues of legal character on international and other
legal subjects with attraction of Association members, experts of appropriate
profile, including foreign specialists;
• Rendering legal and consultative assistance to the state bodies and to other public
and nongovernmental organizations, to citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as to foreign physical and juridical persons;
• Acquaintance of the scientific circles of the republic, practical workers and the wide public
with national and foreign legislations, contractual practice, international organizations’ documents and conferences, informational and bibliographic materials.

Experience:

Lately the Association cooperated at a national level with the Constitutional court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Oliy Majlis, the Representative on human rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry for Emergency Situations, Institute of strategic and interregional researches at President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with press and information Agency MASS-MEDIA, the Tashkent chamber of commodity producers and businessmen, International EKOSAN fund, with the Association of business women, with educational institutions and other organizations, including non governmental, performances in MASS-MEDIA, radio and on TV.

The Association actively cooperates with various international organizations at international level: International Committee of the Red Cross, World Bank, the United Nations, OSCE, Fund Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, etc., accredited in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
